Here are a few of my personal favorites:
1. Hand- This will always be my favorite, The intimacy involved in skin-to-skin contact, the spontaneity and constant availability, the large range from soft, sensual pats to hard, stinging slaps. Mmmm.
2. Belt- So domestically classic and perfect for my headspace. The belt is in my fantasies constantly. The stern look, the belt being unbuckled, slipping slowly (yet quickly) through the belt loops, the folding over, the rolling up of sleeves. The belt epitomizes manly dominance and causes my stomach to flip.
3. Cane- This satisfies my less frequent desire for cold, detached discipline. There is nothing friendly or intimate about the cane, and that's why I love it. It stings immensely and leaves an after burn that can be reignited easily by sitting. Plus, it leaves lovely marks. :-)It's kind of funny that my top three favorite implements are the four letter words. Perhaps that's appropriate, seeing as I feel like screaming other four letter words during particularly hard swats!
I do probably deserve a harsher spanking with some of the above implements for waiting nearly two weeks to post a blog. It really is important to me to keep up with my rules, so I apologize for that.
This past weekend, my good friend Malignus came to stay with me, and we had two days full of spanking and fun. Also, Danny and I uploaded a couple more clips to our store, including another week of discipline diary as well as a double belting we filmed with Kat and Kyle in Vegas. Thanks for the link to the trailer. I know first hand that you have a small bottom (it's such a nice shape that in video it looks closer to average size than it is), so Kat's must be absolutely tiny. Look "boyish hips" up in the dictionary, we see her photo. I have never met a woman who didn't wish her bottom was smaller, so I assume Kat will be pleased by my observation.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it's predictable that the criteria for favorite implements would be different from spankees to spankers -- though certainly one of our criteria has to be that our spankees like the implements, or else we won't get to use them. I'd never analyzed it before, but I guess to me, two important characteristics are ease of use (easy to hit what I aim at; easy to hit square) and ability to adjust severity.
I do like hand spanking -- though not as much as spankees like it, because my hand is not as tough as it needs to be, so "this will hurt me as much as it hurts you" can be all too true. Other than that I love my wide London Tanner's strap, for ease of use, and I love canes, which I find relatively easy to use and are very easy to adjust from mild to severe. I also like a ping-pong paddle -- because it gives my hand a rest, yet does not scare the spankees away.
Poor Sophie, always getting spanked for something, now it'll be not blogging. Poor me, I'm not the one who gets to spank her.

I can definitely see how the criteria for favorite implement would be different for Tops, and I'm glad you think about how it effects the spankee at the same time. If it's enjoyable for one person, that often makes it more enjoyable for the other. Similarly, if I know my Top is particularly fond of an implement, but it's not my favorite, I still enjoy the fact that he wants to use it on me.

The implement thing to me, like most other aspects of spanking, is a two-way street. If she likes something, or doesn't like it in the right way, that makes it much more exciting. I was never much for the belt, but over the years I've come to understand the effect it has because of how others feel about it. Now I'm a belt fan. There are a few implements that have meant a lot to me since I was very young---the ones I would always think of first in any spanking fantasy or for any story---but if the implement really doesn't work for her, then not much excitement in using it. I also like to use my hand for spanking. It's always worked very well. For some reason, though, I prefer to watch spankings where an implement is used. Not that a hand can't be very effective, but an implement seems to represent punishment to me in a stronger way. As a voyeur, I prefer formal discipline scenes over intimate/erotic ones.

The hand has and always will be my very favorite way to spank, and for the reasons you stated! Nothing is more intimate than an otk spanking--and the butt should always, always be bare. Nothing is as intimate or shows submission quite as well. No other method has the warm skin to skin contact I crave. Nothing like feeling the bottom warm up as the spanking progresses! I suggest you also try a leather paddle! I like using a leather paddle very much, especially if it is all leather without a hard spine! And what says you have been a bad girl better than a wooden hairbrush or wooden spatula? J
